Types of Dog Bets

There are some sportsbooks that offer a larger variety of bet types then others and there are combinations too that you can choose from.  The straight bet or Win bet is the most common type of bet. You make your choice from the odds and if your greyhound win, then so do you.

A Place bet is chosen for the first or second place winner and a Show bet is for your chosen dog to come in either first  place, second or third place. A combination bet covers from two to four greyhounds to cross the finish line in a certain order.

A Jackpot bet is where you pick six winners of six races and then share the jackpot prize.  For this bet the prize and the rules will be different on each track.  The Daily Double is when you place you bet before the first race but have chosen the winners of the first and second races of that day.  There is also a type of bet called the Superfecta and this bet covers four dogs and they must cross the finish line in the order that you chose.  These are only half of the types of bets you have to chose from when you are at the track.  Betting can be fun and even better if you win.  Good Luck.
